Excelebration, Inc. is a non-profit educational association established to promote equity and quality education for inner city students. Located in Detroit, Michigan, we are a community of learning--teachers, students, parents, and business leaders-- committed to developing problem-solvers that will positively impact our neighborhoods.
We are almost ready for lift-off! The word is spreading like rich maple syrup on a stack of buttermilk pancakes and it's all good. We are in the first stages of selecting a facility to house the students we intend to ignite into learning mode.
We're excited because parents and students have expressed a desire to attend our school. That means our approach to learning is getting high-fives.
Our foundational approach to learning includes our Five Pillars of Learning: to love self, to know, to live with others, to do, and to be--all that we can be. This foundation will promote character building, self-respect, and evolvement of critical thinking skills.
We all live in one society and we must learn how to adapt--to others, self, and environments we cannot control.
When the doors open, Excelebration Schools will admit students of any race, color, national origin and ethnic origin, to all the rights and privileges, programs, and activities, generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It will not discriminate on the basis of color, race, national origin or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school- administered programs.
